Term 2, Elm and Pine Class: History - How have toys changed over time?
In our History lessons, we have been learning about toys. Our question of the term is, 'How have toys changed over time?' Mrs Burton's daddy, David, came into school to show us some of his really old toys. One of the toys he had was 108 years old! We learned that older toys can change colour with age; they were made of felt, fabric, metal or wood; they are sometimes broken after many years of being played with and the colours on older toys are duller. They did not use plastic because it hadn't been invented yet! We asked David questions about the toys and were allowed to touch and feel the toys up close. Elm and Pine Classes listened beautifully and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.
