On 13th March, Year 1 went to STEAM Museum in Swindon.
We had a workshop on Isambard Kingdom Brunel and George and Robert Stevenson. We also learned about how the railways were built and what it was like to be alive in the time of Brunel.
Our children particularly enjoyed the 'hands-on' parts of the museum, exploring train carriages, pulling signal levers and climbing on trains. We drew pictures of the trains we saw and looked at the shapes that were used within them. Dressing up was very exciting! We also created living pictures, which helped us to remember what we had learned.
We had a BRILLIANT day!
